Ice skating in Ukraine is peerless when it comes to the level of quality and experience of the skaters. From this time honored background, the release of "We Are the Champions" has created quite a stir in the ice skating world. This show uses former Olympic medalists as well as many celebrity names to bring a new type of ice show to audiences both in Ukraine and around the world. With a storied history, the show has been presented for over 3 decades with an average of 150 performances each year. In current times, the show has morphed from a simple display of ice skating techniques into a major performance. The ongoing tour has state of the art light and sound systems as well as professional choreography to keep the entire audience sitting on the edge of their seats.

"We Are the Champions" does more than just entertain the public. The show also helps charitable organizations and has raised large amounts of money for the child victims of the Chernobyl nuclear accident. In total, over $50,000 was raised and used in helping children that had suffered from the radiation that was exposed during the event. The charitable aims of the show have helped to make it one of the most successful in all of Europe.

To bring a wider audience to the shows, the organizing group has brought in Victor Petrenko as the main star. During his professional career, Petrenko skated nationally for Russia and the Ukraine as well as for the Unified Team in 1992. It is the latter that earned him his greatest honor as he was able to take the gold medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics. This accolade helped vault Petrenko to the top of the figure skating world and he happily lends his talents to the charitable causes of the show.
